The American Repertory Theatre is pleased to present the Hartford Stage production of Tea at Five. A portrait of screen and stage legend Katharine Hepburn, Tea at Five garnered critical acclaim and audience praise in Hartford. Tea at Five is an intimate look at Katharine Hepburn at home in her Fenwick estate in Connecticut. Matthew Lombardo's play, created for Mulgrew, reveals Hepburn as an undeniable talent that is equal parts intuitive, witty and fiery.

"Kate Mulgrew is sensational as the tomboyish Bryn Mawr movie queen. Mulgrew's re-creation of the sharp Hepburn voice and theatrical mannerism is uncanny." - Boston Phoenix

"A dazzling, dead-on portrayal by Kate Mulgrew. A compelling, loving portrayal of the reclusive, sometimes irascible Hepburn." - Providence Journal

"Mulgrew gives a remarkable performance. She has all the experience and technique to hold the stage." - Variety

"A remarkable physical metamorphosis. Mulgrew captures Hepburn in all her patrician verve." - New London Day
